Writing from my temporary residence on Ossington Ave in Toronto, Canada. It's cold out. Listening to this new EP from FINE ÉQUIPE, a hardcore band made up of people from the SYNDROME 81/MENTALITÉ 81 circle. Very well-executed Youth Crew revival. Has the melodic/melancholic bent of the members' main bands, lending itself to something you might have heard in the early or mid-2000s off Rivalry or B9, but I find the songwriting faithful to the spirit of the original wave of Youth Crew, more dynamic and far less stale and formulaic than some of that later crop got at times.
