POST TEENS - POST TEENS 7"

Sorry it's been a quick second. Work got a little busy and I've been a little out of the loop due to a social media hiatus. But I wanted to make a post about one of my favorite Florida bands ever, and in my mind one of the more underrated punk bands of the past couple decades nationally. There's nothing all that special about POST TEENS. It's a straightforward sixteenth-note high-hat sort of deal, bearing  resemblance to a more rabid MARKED MEN and isn't too far removed from THE RAMONES. Most of these tracks clock in at around 60 seconds give or take, and they are very simple and catchy, "pop-punk" in the best and most literal possible sense, with lyrical subjects ranging from getting fucked up, getting fucked up (as in someone kicking your ass), fucking up and also hair products fucking up people's brains and making them stupid. When the weather starts getting good and riding one's bike to get places becomes fun again, I still listen to this record almost every day, almost fifteen years after it came out. Great spring/summer tunes that bring back fond memories of people in Gainesville dressed in black head to toe, powering through skinny-jeans-induced swamp ass for at least 8 months out of every year.

FFO: RAMONES, MARKED MEN
