A nice new album with a mix of older tracks and new ones. The obvious comps to reach for with Milwaukee's NECRON 9 are their Midwest forebears, perhaps like THE FIX or MECHT MENSCH, or maybe another raw, rasp-voiced 80s band like UNITED MUTATION. They definitely have that bleak sinister-sounding element characteristic of those bands. The riffing on "I Kill Fucker" has an early heavy metal feel to it. POISON IDEA also feels like an apt reference point but I hate using that one because you can hear some aspect of them in seemingly 80% of modern hardcore punk bands. I also went to Milwaukee for the first time last month and bought myself a mug. The airport there is pretty interesting. Anyways, go listen below, I'm going to make myself a peanut butter sandwich.
